About Our Care Packages
People often wonder what they should send in care packages to Soldiers. We want the Soldiers to be genuinely excited when a JOSH care package arrives so we strive to send the best possible care packages. We focus our efforts on sending good quality products in all of our care packages.
Below you will find a list of the items we need most if you are interested in running a collection drive. This is not an all inclusive list of what we ship, but these are the items that go in every food or hygiene package. Due to storage limitations, these are the only items and brands that we can accept at this time.
Just as important as what we do ship, is what we do not ship. Please see the section below for items that we either cannot ship or will not ship.

Donated Items
If you would like to donate items, we request only the following items due to storage limitations.
- Beef jerky (Jack Link's 1.25 oz bags)
- Water flavors (Crystal Light individual packets)
- Ground coffee (1 pound bags or smaller, Dunkin' Donuts, Seattle's Best or Eight O'Clock)
- Clif Bars
- Kind Bars
- Emerald Nuts (5 oz bags)
- Pampers or Huggies Baby Wipes, 56 count package
- Full size Degree, Right Guard, or Dove Antiperspirant/Deodorant
- Full size Dove or Dial Body Wash
- Cremo Shave Lotion in Tubes (No aerosols)
We also have wish lists on Amazon and Walmart if you'd like to order from there. Items will be delivered to us and we will ship them out with our monthly care packages.
Please note that JOSH ships specific brands in our care packages. It is most helpful if we receive donations of the brand names we have listed beside the items. We try to make all of our monthly packages as consistent as possible.
We cannot/will not ship anything that is an aerosol, spray bottle, or has a nozzle.
We WILL NOT ship items that have expired or have been opened.
Since JOSH is run entirely by volunteers, our facility is open for drop-offs by appointment only. Please email khewitt@justoursoldiershelpers.org to schedule a time.
